The most Eco-friendly summer camps in the UK
We are all aware of the problem facing the world regarding single-use plastics. Nearly 36% of all plastic created is used in plastic packaging and we must all try to reduce our use of these materials. Since the 1950s we have produced an estimated 8.3 billion metric tonnes of the stuff!
The international education industry, with its thousands of language schools around the world, must do their part. We see students travelling long distances which also has an impact, but there are opportunities when you arrive at your chosen school to try to reduce our impact on this beautiful world.
This is why we are proud to see Trinity UK trying to make a difference by reducing the use of plastics and other non-recyclable materials such as plastic cups, plastic bags, and cutlery used in their schools in the UK, becoming one of the most eco-friendly summer camps in the country.
The school encourages students to bring refillable water bottles to school, which will be used during lunches and throughout the day. Trinity UK schools all provide plenty of places where their students can fill up their re-usable bottles with fresh water totally free or charge.
They encourage students to bring in their own bottles, but they also provide refillable bottles that can also be purchased at the Trinity UK schools. What is even better is that half of the cost of these bottles will be donated to the Make-A-Wish®Foundation. This amazing US non-profit organization creates life-changing wishes for children (2-18) with a critical illness, and to help them in their time of need.
This means that any student travelling to the UK and studying with Trinity UK can help the fight against plastic in our environment and also help children in need.
Trinity UK are making a small difference, but we hope schools across the world follow their lead. Well done Trinity UK!
