Waterford English Language Centres (WELC) – Junior Summer School

About the school
Waterford English Language Centres (WELC) is located in the heart of Waterford City, the oldest city in Ireland and the capital of Ireland’s sunny south-east.
With a stunning coastline, sandy beaches, beautiful rivers and magnificent mountains, Waterford is a destination for children and teenagers who love nature and outdoor sports. It’s located less than two hours from Dublin, making it very easy to visit the capital city of Ireland.
The Junior Summer School programme is based at Newton School, located only 5 minutes walk from WELC. This school offers amazing facilities including rooms specifically for computers, music, cooking, theatre and art.
Activities happen at the 25m indoor swimming pool, the gymnasium, astroturf hockey/soccer pitch, cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court (outdoor) and an indoor sports hall.
Junior students can choose between a local host family and on-site residential accommodation.
The amazing Summer School programme includes 15 hours of English language tuition per week. Every afternoon there are exciting activities organised by the school – these include fun things like a visit to the Water Park, bowling, Irish dancing and even a Viking City Treasure Hunt. On Saturday there are full day trips to cities like Dublin, Cork and Kilkenny to show you the best that Ireland has to offer.
