Ontario Tech University is located in Oshawa, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area – only a 30-minute drive from the city of Toronto. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes as well as the English Language Centre (ELC). If you meet the academic requirements for admission but need additional English language training, the ELC is the perfect place for the development of your English language skills.
Learning English at Ontario Tech has many benefits; you are fully immersed in English-only learning. They offer many out-of-class learning activities as well as weekly conversation groups. You will also have the opportunity to put your newly gained language skills to use during various cultural and social activities, and field trips.

Ontario Tech offers two on-campus residence buildings, which include three types of fully-furnished rooms:
- Double-occupancy open concept suite with two double-beds separated by a partition.
- Double-occupancy with two private bedrooms, double bed in each room.
- Quadruple-occupancy rooms, with two side-by-side bunk beds.
Each residence room includes:
- A guaranteed spot, as long as you apply by the June 1 deadline
- Kitchenette with a mini-fridge and microwave
- Private, three-piece bathroom
The university provides off-campus living resources and assistance for students. From housing, to transit, to general inquiries about living off-campus, Ontario Tech has a team to help you reside in a place that’s best for you.
A host family will welcome you into their home so you feel supported during your program of study in Canada. Living with a family provides the greatest opportunities for learning the English language. It is also the ideal setting for learning new skills and experiencing Canadian life.
