Guernsey

Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands, is a stunning island located just off the coast of France in the English Channel.

The pace of life here is relaxed – the maximum speed limit for cars is just 35mph! So it’s ideal for those looking to seek sanctuary and enjoy the striking coastline, beautiful beaches and vibrant harbours, sample the delicious local produce, take in the magnificent scenery and wildlife, and learn about the poignant history of the island at one of the many museums and landmarks.

Along with several smaller islands, Guernsey is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a self-governing Crown Dependency. It’s not part of the UK and has it’s own version of the UK pound with local banknotes and coins being used alongside UK ones.

Boasting 42 miles of cliffs and coastal paths and 27 beaches, visitors to the islands are spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying the sea-views. And if you want to dip your toe in the water, there are a wide range of exhilarating water-based activities on offer.

The island can only be reached by air or sea, but is well connected to the UK and the rest of Europe with several flights and ferries a day.
