4 Great walks during your English language course in Scotland
If you intend to study in Scotland, be ready to be charmed by the natural beauty of the country.
During the Summer months, you can enjoy the warm weather and visit tourist attractions, go for walks and also have picnics in the many local parks.
Lady Mary’s Walk, Crieff, Perthshire
The Lady Mary’s Murray route, which runs along the banks of the River Earn, takes you to beautiful landscapes full of trees (some of them are over 150 years old). This walk goes through the wooded Laggan Hill and gives splendid views of the surrounding countryside.
Falls of Clyde, Lanarkshire
This short walk to Clyde de New Lanark passes a beautiful series of waterfalls, rolling fields and woodlands. The walk can be longer by following an additional route on the far side of the river.
Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh
From Royal Mile Street, which is the most famous street in Edinburgh, you can hike up to the top of Arthur’s Seat, at Holyrood Park, located in the centre of the city. When walking to the ancient volcano, which is 251 metres above the sea level, you can enjoy the most breathtaking view of the Scottish capital. This is something you must do!
Loch Morlich, Cairngorms National Park
When taking this walk, you will be surrounded by beautiful mountains, forests and beaches. You can take some great pictures. Loch Morlich lies in the heart of Glenmore Forest Park and has amazing mountainous views of the north of Cairngorm National Park.
All of these breath-taking places are within an easy reach when you study at ISSOS St Andrews, which itself is also a beautiful coastal town.
